Beauty Buried
Her body lay in the ground below
But her spirit was ever present in our lives
Reminding us to get up everyday
And breathe in and out
Her easy smile
And contagious laughter were burned in our minds
But her beauty and innocence were too great
They had to be preserved, old age could
Never taint her
It seemed like she was here one day
And gone the next
No long deterioration, only a couple seconds
And then she quickly slipped away
Now there is a part of our hearts that are empty
Only a unique piece will fit
But it is lost forever
Never to be found amongst dust bunnies under a bed
Or left carelessly in a drawer
