I'm Glad It's Over
“I’m glad it’s over” I think as I sit crying.
“That’s it”,
It finally happened.
“I’m done” I lost the fight.
The fight was hard.
So I’m glad it’s over.
Oh, the fight.
It was like treading water with weights on my feet.
Trying my hardest but getting nowhere.
Sinking.
Always sinking.
I’m glad it’s over.
The feeling that there was no one in the world
That understood how I was feeling.
Not even I knew.
I’m glad it’s over.
Now I don’t have to sit alone in my room.
I don’t have to feel that walls closing all around me.
Or think “What’s the point?”
I’m glad it’s over.
No more pain, no more tears,
All because I fought as long as I did.
The fight.
That’s how I got here.
The fight.
It made me who I am today.
The fight.
It made my success story.
“Why are you crying?” they will ask you.
You have no reason to answer,
Because the tears,
They will stop.
All you have to do is fight.
I’m glad it’s over.
Now I can live,
Happily,
The way I always dreamed of.
