Coming home to my family
Everyone’s there to greet me from school
My dad asking me if I’m hungry
My sisters telling me what to do
Not listening to them
My sisters moving on their own
My dad and I are moving then
Everything will be different
It will never be the same
It’s a new beginning
And the end of the old beginning.

My dad finally realizes
He has let me make my own decisions
Knowing he can’t hold on to me forever
Making him finally see that I’m almost out of high school
And I’m going to do my own thing
Not knowing where I’m going makes him worried
But it excites me,
He knows one day it will all come to an end.
