The trembling of my knees
The cold sweat running down my face
My eyes locked in a daze
Staring and being stared at by those things that chill a man’s soul
My mind says run, but my legs will not respond
As if the earth has laid hold to my feet
Mocking my pointless attempts to escape
I feel them coming
I her their voices
My heart has already began to slow to a beat almost undetectable
Not knowing who
Unaware of what
The anticipation
This is fear
