This summer will be different.
It won’t be like the other summers,
Where I have hung with friends and swam at the pool all day.
No, this summer will be different.
It won’t be about eating ice cream and getting tan,
It won’t be an adventure with friends.
But this summer will be an adventure in a new way,
Because this summer I will have a job.
I’m not a kid anymore,
I’m sixteen and that means it time to start growing up.
Just because I’m growing up doesn’t mean this summer will be bad,
It just means it will be different.
And different is not always bad.
