When I think back
To that summer
When I first met you
We were young
Your mom drove you
To school
In her big green van
We became friends, and played all day
We were crazy
When school was out, mommy drove you
Home
In that big green van

When I think back
To that summer
When we became a couple
We were perfect
You drove
To my house
In your shiny red car
We spent our days in love
We were one
At the end of the day, you drove
Yourself home
In that shiny red car

When I think back
To that summer
When you had to go away
We were hurt
They drove you
To me
In their big army truck
We said goodbye, for now
We were patient
They drove you from me
To war
In that big army truck

When I think back
To that summer
When you finally returned
We were apart
The driver drove you
All through town
in his long black car
We would never be the same
We were no more
The driver drove you
To the realm of others, forever silent
In that long black car

I don't really know how I came up for the idea for this one. I just randomly started writing, and this is what came out.
