bright red smile
on pale peach cream
pink ribbons
wrapped around
thin fragile things

white satin underneath
splotches to red
fades to brown
rust and life
staining the world

life freely flows
out from the smile
lipless and pained
life pouring out
ruining perfection

leaving only pink ribbons behind

this piece was inspired by one of my friends, who used to cut. I wrote this because when I write, I put my feelings right into the words, and this is how I felt about what she was doing.
