Before we talk about the sadness that roams my head
Before we talk about the times I needed you the most
Before we talk about the mental and emotional scars you have left upon me
Before I tell you what I’ve been longing to tell you for years
I will explain to you how you left me with open wounds
The kind that stalks me everywhere I go
The kind that interferer’s with achieving my dreams
The kind that will never fade away
The kind that lingers in the present and future
In the end I will stay strong, I will not burn
I will prosper in my own future without you
