Dear God

I can't tell if you're listening
Or if you even care
But please God, keep them safe
I know I haven't said my prayers
And I haven't gone to church
But I beg you to keep them safe
I won't promise to pray every night
Because it's not a promise I can keep
And I won't go to church
'Cause I don't like it there
But if you're listening
and you are who everyone says you are
You shouldn't care
That I can't trust someone with my whole self
But you will do what you can to keep them safe
