They teach you to dream big, to always shoot for the stars;
And you only hear about the happy endings
Fairytales that glisten in the sun.
But what happens when your dreams are too big?
When the stars are just out of your grasp,
What do they tell you then?
Strange, how they never talk about that bottomless pit
The brink of everlasting darkness
What’s a dreamer to do, when all her dreams are crushed?
When they tell you you’re wasting your time;
Well, maybe it’s time to move on.
Shoot for the stars within reason;
It’s no help if you keep flying your spaceship into cinders
Maybe you could try for the moon instead.
