Greed

After it’s all over
Look around
And see the pieces left behind
The consequences
Of sacrifices long granted

After it’s all over
Look around
And you will see the ruin
That is left from greed
From evil
From mistakes
And we see the damage it has caused
The lives it has stolen
The humanity that was robbed
We grab our hammers and fix
We fix and repair
And fix and repair
And a little while later we repeat
We break it again

Do
Do
Do
That’s what we’re told
And we are set
Set for failure
We forget
To
Do
What is right
And just do what
We’re told

Who cares about
What’s right
The important thing is
Benefiting yourself
Benefiting
Yourself
We need money
And luxuries
I want to live
In a big house
And brag about everything
I have
We need to prioritize
Think
Green
Because that’s what’s
Important
That’s what we are told is important

One day I
Will live in a
Big house and
Have
The best of
Everything

And I will
Deny
Everything
And deny seeing any
Ruin left
From greed
From evil
From mistakes
And I will ignore
The damage I
Have caused
I will not
Fix nor
Repair

Oblivion will be my veil
But yet
I will still
Remind my grandchildren
That

After it’s all over
To look around
And see the pieces left behind
The consequences
Of sacrifices long granted (by strangers of course)
