Quick Fire
Our love was like a quick fire
Burning bright and wild
Dying down into ash and smoke
Leaving the broken bones of my heart on the ground
The fiery ecstasy
Hushed secrets
Raging emotions
Tight lipped answers
Chasing after the love I thought was there
Believing that my home is by your side
Removed from the darkness and shadows of life
Safe in your arms
Realizing the deception of our relationship
Your fraud and fake love
The malice and cruelty you showed
Dreaded coldness seeps into my heart
So, I locked my heart in a steel gilded cage
Safe from the brutality that it once knew
It waits for death with age and weariness
