I Am Writer, a Dreamer

I am a writer, a dreamer,
I wonder about life, the world,
I hear voices, characters whispering to me,
I see the daring dragons, eternal elves, and dangerous days of 'ole,
I want to imagine beyond reality.

I pretend to be my character,
I feel the strength, the courage, and terror,
I touch the scaly dragon back, the wooden mast, the sword,
I laugh at wit
I cry at loss
I worry about failure
I smile at success.

I understand imagination is boundless,
I say create, imagine,
I dream of beautiful words, worlds,
I try to create, create a world,
I hope to impact, impact people's lives,
I am a writer, a dreamer
