Count Me Out
It’s easy to be a number.
 64 hundred killed.
 11 thousand displaced.
 9 million survived.

It’s easy to be a number.
 Social security number.
 Your paycheck.
 Bills to be paid.

It’s easy to be a number.
 Simply someone.
 In the crowd.
 Drowning out.

It’s not as easy to be human.
 With a future,
 and a story,
 and choices to be made.

 I am a human,
 not just a number.
 so please.
 Don’t count me.
