Masks
Masks, masks, all around me masks
Each one different, but sharing a common element:
Each one sheds a stream of tears,
of sorrow and hatred
covering the floor of this place with a lake of regrets and fears.
There is no sign of what holds these masks in place,
hanging there… in empty space
Wherever I walk, the masks follow,
never showing me their backs,
never letting me see what is inside.
