A Silent Prayer for Rain

May 13, 2012

Gasping for sweet air
None can be found
As the fire engulfs,
You sink to the ground

Pressed against the earth
As the smoke rises higher
Everything around
Becomes fuel for the fire

A silent prayer for rain
As red and gold surround
Soon that wish is granted
With the water falling down

But once the flames are gone
The water still cascades
And slowly you will drown
But the downpour never fades
