It’s a faint orange,
As the sun fades behind the clouds
Flickers of dust spread through the ligh

I gaze,
Car lights glisten off the river
Leaves flying through the breeze

Look closely

The birds rest in a tree
The crickets begin to chatter

The sun goes now
Stars appear, one much brighter than the rest
Neighbors lights shut off one by one

The curtain closing slowly,
the widow now at rest
