All deep things are song. It seems somehow the very central essence of us, song; as if all the rest were but wrappages and hulls! ~Thomas Carlyle
I have my own particular sorrows, loves, delights; and you have yours. But sorrow, gladness, yearning, hope, love, belong to all of us, in all times and in all places. Music is the only means whereby we feel these emotions in their universality. ~H.A. Overstreet

7 sins together in glee
Out of them, one who is me
Envy’s eyes stare into my soul
And whispers things I rather not have heard
“Look at her” she whispers in too sweet tones
“Her beauty and charm outmatches yours.”
With Envy’s power, she clutches my soul
And in my eyes, I see her grow

Looking in the mirror
I stare at my face
Holding my hands in helpless fists
Envy sits beside me and smirks
“Beauty is clearly not a gift you have received.”
So I shut my eyes and wish with hope
That beauty will flourish and get rid of this voice

As a young girl, this is usually what I feel most of the time. I thought that others would relate as well.
