Her suitcase sits on the edge of the bed
Can she do this?
No guarantees but
If she doesn’t try she’ll never know
Just a step out the front door
The car pulls away
A flash of regret
A pinch of sadness
Homesick already?
She watches it fade from view
The buildings
The football field
The playground
Another lifetime ago, all fading away
She’s scared
“What if’s” fly through her mind
Maybe this was a mistake…
But what if it all works out
Maybe its meant to be…
