I’m thinking of a time
Way back then,
when I was young
Running, playing, laughing not a care
The friends I had, the moments we shared
Girls had cooties, friends were tell the end
Getting high was on a swing
War was just a card game
Race issues were to see who was faster
Those times were so simple I would give everything
The perfect girl, the car and the money
Things were easy, no drama no worries
The homework was short and sweet
The fun never ended the laughter never stopped
When just getting by and slacking off
Was okay in school
When all I could think about
was What to do after lunch
During the time you could never
Get me inside
even if I missed a meal
When I truly had it all
But nothing would compare when all
I wanted to do was grow up
Have the perfect house and the perfect family
But no one mention what comes in between
If I had known I would have enjoyed the bad
Cause then it truly wasn't all that bad.
