The Summer House

Careless in our summer clothes,
thin items to complement the heat,
black and white photos that are bleeding their color,
empty winter houses have never seemed fuller,

Watch the seasons change alone,
we are the only ones that seem to have grown,
except with dust,
you stay the same,
always good for warmer games,

A night that appears full with the stars,
smoke that leads a trail to mars,
dance by this fire light,
and sing songs up to the moon,

With last years dreams, new memories we spring,
resolutions burned into out minds,
try all the things we've only seen,
swing from the tire attached to the tree,
cut the tree down,
and plant a new seed,
fresh beginnings from old means

Grow with us forest,
house full of laughs,
you never change except for new drafts,
each season takes it's toll,
wondering when your time is sold,
until we find years to fill,
dust will always continue to build,
maybe someday we'll grow to old,
but for now it's our time,
to discover our molds.

I hope we can spend some time like that in the house THIS summer.  It catches that air blowing through in words perfectly.
