The Parlor
I’m staring out my parlor window
The only one on the wall
I try to look out on the world before me
But I can’t because it is raining
The fog and rain obscure all sight
The window shows nothing but static
But that’s alright, for either way
Rain is something to look at too
I’m watching the rain hit the window now
What I see out my window is peaceful
and I’m content
But although I can’t see further past the rain
The rain is just as much a sight to observe
As the world that it hides behind it
