It is not dropping a blind mouse
into a maze - without itself
knowing it is in a maze
for that matter
nor is it a bird teaching its
off springs how to lift their wings
and fly to the sky that is life
hoping they would not land on the sidewalk below
Though it is similar to writing a poem
on the surface of paper as if I am a blind man in a dark room
touching the furniture around me
like most poets who are lost in their poems
not knowing what the next line is going to be
only to be guided by the pencil
in their hand.
