Dear old friend,
You who soaked up all of the tears I cried,
You who put me to sleep on those restless nights,
You who kept me safe from the crackling thunder,
You who snuggled close,
And never let go,
You who let me rip and tear you,
You who always cared,
Even if we knew I was wrong,
Shall I give you up for my own sake?
Or is it safe for you to travel to college with me?
Can I live without you?
You who I will always love...

The author's comments:
The day I was born my great grandmother gave me a hand made blanket that I slept with every night and I never left out of my sight. When she passed years back I remembered my blanket and found it in my basement and now I can't go without it again.
