More Than Anything
More than anything,
I want to wake up in the morning
And stare into your eyes and realize—
They’re the same color as the line
Where the grass meets the sky.
More than anything,
I want to memorize the creases in your palms,
Press my lips to each fingertip
And then your neck,
And then your lips.
More than anything,
I want to feel your arms around me;
You are my safe place;
I would never leave you,
Not for the world.
More than anything,
I want to call you mine,
To hear someone say I am yours—
That is all I aspire to be in this life,
And the next life, and the next.
