She was lingering on a bridge
Nervous to move forward
To step into the depths of the unknown
So young and meek, she holds out
Her arms to protect what would fall
With each small step is apprehension
Yet she is ready
Now she is seventeen
On the edge of maturity and
Ready to expand what she knows
To leave home in order to find
Herself amidst the huge world
With each small step is apprehension
