Dream
Strawberry fields and clear blue skies swim around in my head. The sweet smell fills my nose as I inhale my last breath. I open my eyes and realize why I am here. I have a job to finish, a reason to be here. As I take my last look at the rose red eyes, I hear the blue jay in the tree sing. Pain, at first, then I smile. I said my goodbyes, now it’s time for the thank yous. The vampire ended my life. But I asked for it. I got what I wanted, to get away from the world filled with so much hatred, & I gave something back to the one who took my life. My blood. The sweet, warm liquid that made me hard to resist. I take my last look of life, how it was, and how it never will be, and I realize,
I am finally at peace.
