You Had It All Along
I had trusted and loved with all I had, only to be hurt
So I locked the door to my heart
Shut tight it was! Making a promise to myself to never let anyone in again
I tossed that key into a sea of my deepest emotions
Never to be found of or thought of in my head
I tossed it as far as I could then built walls around
So guarded I kept it you see
Love would never enter there again
Then you,my dear, you came into my life
You quickly changed my stubborn ways but not without a fight
For more precious then silver
More expensive then gold
There is no spare you see
My key is lost, impossible to be found
A puzzled look upon my face
Quickly replaced by the brightest smile
For you held out your hand and proved me wrong
Inside your palm was the key to my heart
My lost key YOU had all along
