I haven't
Stood perfectly still in the midst of a rainstorm
Soaking up pungent wet air
And fat droplets in my hair
And felt
the Earth's gentle breathing
Or the invisible roar of night thunder
Outside the comfort of my boxy home.
I haven't ran and leaped off
a towering cliff
Crashing into the wall of coolness
that would engulf me
until I can no longer
Breathe
Oxygen
No longer running through me
I've yet to sit
On a rock
Flicking unsteady eyes from one glinting fish to another
inhaling the musky aroma from
Damp soils
Forgetting the world and its
Triviality
I've yet
To live
As life truly is
Without letting it spin by me
Leaving me in the dust
To live the way
I want
Embracing the little things
Because I'm afraid I'll die before I live.
