Shadow

You are my shadow
You are the kind that comes over me like a giant cloud heavy with rain
And the rain that is in that cloud is waiting me down
In a way that will break my back if I don’t do anything about it

You are my shadow
You are the kind that follows me around like a lost puppy wanting more than I can give
And the more I give the less I have
But the less I have the more impatient u become

You are my shadow
You will not be there in the afternoon, or night, but any other time u will be there
And if I ask you to be there for me you are gone
If I am not there for you then you start yelling and my anger with you is like thunder, it’s raging

You are my shadow
You are taking all of my happiness and replacing it with depression
And the depression is leaving me with no hope
When I ask you to stop taking my hope and happiness the more that gets sucked from my body.

You are my shadow
You think that if you keep up the agonizing that I will fall under your command
And I think you are wrong and you don’t listen to your heart or the ones that love you
So for not doing that I am leaving without a fight because you have fought enough for both of us

You are my shadow
You will not be my shadow
And I know that you will not approve but you are not
I have taken off the pain and you are rite now wearing it

You are not my shadow
Yow won’t ever be my shadow
And if you think if you can ever come back then you are wrong
Never again will you be my shadow
