La main dans la main par les rues on ira

Gently flowing along the sides of the cliff,
they all know what awaits them one day.
The volcano erupts in a constant flow
of lava down the rough mountain side.

Strongly standing in front of their homes,
they all sense what destruction approaches.
The volcano takes out all in its path
with lava, hot and frustrated, at the world.

Calmly fearing underneath that great peak,
they all stay despite the pleas of the Earth.
The volcano has warned them of the future
of lava which never ceases to flow.

Tiredly hoping in places they know and love,
they all wish that this day had never come.
The volcano releases the pent up, angry
lava that searches for a new place to stay.

Inspired by the idea of overworrying about things until one's worries overflow into all aspects of their life. Conceit.
