Your Name

Your name, along with others,
Is etched on my heart.
The names of those
That could have been,
That I hope for,
That will never be.
Some names I breathe upon candle flames
And watch as the light flickers and dies.
Others I whisper to dancing shadows
In a vain attempt to send my love.
But your name I angrily scream to an empty sky
Because you led me on,
And then you left me.

This poem is pretty much my take on guys in general. Some like me, but I don't like them. Others I like, but can't be with. And still others liked me, but changed their mind. Over all, this poem sums up the fact that people you don't interact with anymore are still in your memory.
