At peace on a basement couch
Long legs like flower stems
Stretch across your inviting lap
Toes curling at the touch of cold fingers
Remembering where hands have already laid

Melodies float through the air
Caressing thoughts of infatuation
Engulfing both our souls
In a halcyon blanket
Of deep affection

Dark eyes burning holes through my skin
That burst with empathy and desire
While I memorize the contour of your face
Just so I can close my eyes
And remember that gentle smile

I continue to attempt to explain the feeling of love in words, although it's nearly impossible, and this is just one of my final outcomes.
