“Dustfinger still clearly remembered the feeling of being in love for the first time. How vulnerable his heart had suddenly been! Such a trembling, quivering thing, happy and miserably unhappy at once.” -Cornelia Funke, Inkheart

I see now,
The truth behind it all.
I know now,
The fault in your deceit.

This is false,
Yet I ask how?
This should not,
Be here, be now.

Do I not see you?
Do I not see her?
Do I not see,
The falsehood?

This bliss is false,
The reality is,
What wakes from,
Our cold, cold sleep.

This is true,
This is now.
Is this what I get,
For trusting that lie?

Yes, I see now,
The truth behind the heat.
And yes, I know now,
The length of your deceit.

My very first poem, and by far one of my favorites. Enjoy!
