Night
No light can be seen
But noises are heard
Whether visible to all
Or only you can observe
No one will know
For you are alone
Your eyes are closed
But still you can see
Pictures in your head
Of your deepest memories
You push the away
And try to drift asleep
But there is no escape
For it's all in your head
Suddenly it's light
You miss the night
Wishing you had time
To rest your eyes
You try to remember
What troubled your mind
The thought of the unknown
Torments your soul
You shrug it off
And get on with your day
Despite the fact
It will all happen again
An endless cycle
You don't understand
But it gives you a release
From life at hand
So you appreciate the night
As it is your friend.
