Our World
Lush green fields,
Dotted with windmills and sheep.
Clear and bright skies,
As blue as a robin’s egg.
Shimmering turquoise water,
Clearer than a diamond jewel.
This is what we expect of our world,
But how can we hope for this,
If we don’t even try to keep it clean?
Littered streets filled with polluting cars,
While the factory smoke lingers.
Forests demolished for new condos,
While the animals hide.
We all want to leave our children with a better world,
But no one seems to want to do anything about it.
