Falling Up
Falling to the ground
Pieces of herself scattered on the floor
Just another day of surprises
A glimpse of what life has in store
There’s an awful lot of beauty
She stares up at the stars
You can’t control the ugly things
In life she will go far
Gathering the damaged fragments
She puts herself back together
Nothing can keep her from going on
She sees the sun instead of stormy weather
Her sky is brightened by sparks of laughter
She doesn’t need to be whole to be free
She balances her spectrum of faith
She doesn’t need eyesight to see
This girl has tumbled to the earth
And shattered her inner core
Just another day of surprises
She embraces what life has in store
