Childhood Kingdom
There is a town, not too far away
In the snow, the children play
They are safe there, they know
But ever so quickly, the children grow
The town is not a normal place
The kids are different, like a different race
The town is welcoming, secure and beautiful all year
Tucked into the mountains, there’s nothing to fear
They have no worries, not a doubt
Safe and sound, no reason to pout
The only thing they have to do is play
Out in the snow, laughing all day
However, the day will come
No more time for fun
The snow is gone, no more time for play
They are going somewhere far away
But the now grown children will come back
The quaintness is what their new lives will lack
They’re grown up, but they still remember
The first snow of every year, early in November
Some have children, some are married
The town and the snow, is what their memories have carried
They imagine running thorough the trees
And the feeling of the winter breeze
So many memories; so long ago
They wish their own children could know
What it was like, in the childhood kingdom
Feeling nothing, nothing but freedom
