Failure

What I fear most
makes me cringe
just the thought of it makes me weep
the hope for success tries to fight against it
But still this word lingers in my thoughts
I try to retaliate by putting forth excessive efforts
Though I try, it always wins
Making me feel unworthy of life
Am I alone? Does anyone feel the same?
Success is painful
It is painful to get around the barriers
Someday success may be attained but only after the barriers are completely broken

No, you are definitely not alone!!! Failure is terrifying--right up there with darkness and clowns with chainsaws. Especially considering almost everyone in your life tries to feed you different definitions of the word. Luckily, happiness and success are independent of each other :)
Great poem, by the way. This sort of became a personal tangent. Sorry about that.
P.S. I would really appreciate it f you read some of my stuff...I usually think it's annoying when people say that but...oh well. I've done it now.
