Like butterflies,

Falling through the deep open space.

They may not fly freely,

Or sparkle like crystals in the clear sunlight,

But as they glide and swoop slowly towards the stone covered floor;

One can only wonder.

One can only wonder why no one sees them as more.

All the oohs and aahs are saved for snowflakes and stars

And none are spared for the so called ordinary.

But who is to decide the plainness of beauty?

Who is to tell nature to not go out of its way?

Show me "repulsive" and I'll show you artistry;

Nature's beautiful way of screaming LOOK DEEPER!!

The surface of a pond can be murky with shadows,

Can dulled by spring's new growth.

But only the shallow will not see beauty

In the depths of the shadows that run the surface of the water.

Hunt deeper, swim deeper into the waters

And search for the allure, where you never thought to look.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Beauty is only as shallow as where you choose to look for it.
