Its walls rise high,
Straight up like a tower,
Reaching towards the sky.

The channel twists and turns,
Stretching for hundreds of miles,
With large rapids causing a huge concern.

The process was super slow,
Carved from mother nature,
By the river that flows below.

Different rock layers exposed,
Blacks, browns, yellows, and oranges,
It’s a physical timeline I suppose.

Its waters are brisk,
Refreshing one moment and bone chilling the next,
Jump in and swim at your own risk.

Stars litter the heavens at night,
Staring into the universe beyond,
Is truly an unforgettable sight.
