She Lives For A Reason
She tugs on the arch of her shirt
Constantly
She lives to tell her story
Her story of betrayal
Her story of loneliness
of vulnerability
Of confusion
She pours out her heart to her generation with the blood of her pen
She tells of an unforgettable day
An unforgettable night
She reopens her wounds to heal others like her
To the other girl who's seen what she's seen
Heard what she's heard
And felt as she did
She quotes
"I felt as if someone had dragged my soul out of me for a minute"
She stares for hours on end
Daydreaming
Then "the day" flashes though he head
He hurt her
He deceived her in a way she never thought of
He was so close
So close to taking away the only thing she could control
A woman's prized possession
He made her feel like a gain of sand
Like a slave for his own pleasure
She pretends as if she's not there
But in actuality
We were both there
