There are so many stories about
Gods who decide
To trust loyalty
And see if humans can
Keep a promise
But really
They went about it all wrong.
Who wouldn’t open a box
To see what’s inside
Who wouldn’t bite an apple
When expressly forbidden
We’re all children
Lying to our parents
“No, mom,
I didn’t break your cabinet
Must have been the dog.”
