Ruins of my Heart
I can't deny the thought of seeing you brightens my day.
Part of me doesn't feel quite as bad.
Then again, down deep inside I know
that what I did was for the best.
May not feel like it now, but it is.
I know your parents were worried you were falling for a guy
that has no future, no plans, and no life.
So I did what they wanted; I ruined your life.
Little do you know, you ruined mine.
That night I drove you home, it was the hardest thing I have ever done.
The thought of one teardrop staining your dress burned inside me.
I loved you from the moment our eyes met.
I loved you the night I drove you home.
To this day, I love you.
