Ocean of Difference

An ocean of difference,
between these once friends,
with each new wave rolling,
and eternity end,
of smiles and anger,
as hot as the sand.

An ocean of differences,
drowning away from land,
swimming to shore,
a difficult task,
but love accomplishes,
what the ocean can’t.

The ocean can separate,
and the tides may flow,
but these two know,
the only way to float,
is through the soul.

This poem was deeply inspired by a best friend I had who moved away. We as friends were already experiencing difficulties and the distance was a new challenge we had to face.
