“Writing, I think, is not apart from living. Writing is a kind of double living. The writer experiences everything twice. Once in reality and once in the mirror which waits always before or behind.”–Catherine Drinker Bowen

Thoughts run through my mind
Filling my life with a hazy daze
My thoughts fill my soul
And make me glow with such a bright light

I have doubted myself, my thoughts no longer
My thoughts no longer fill my soul
My soul no longer shines with a wonderful glow
My thoughts no longer make me shine

I dream and dream of my past time dream
My dream has been burned with the flame of doubt
My dream no longer fills my life
My dream no longer makes me smile for I have doubted

Eyes no longer smile, lips no longer stretch white
Words no longer seem bright for I have doubted
My mind dreams of dreams that have burned long ago
Doubt has burned my glowing life away

I dream a dream that my mind wishes for
My thoughts begin to fill my soul with a small glow that wishes to grow
I lift a pen and begin to dream my dreams
The ones that burned long ago

I dreamt of my burning dreams once again
And they continue to grow with a wonderful glow
For my doubt has burned them and made my life
Fight for them, making them shine brighter than before

My dreams that burnt long ago

The author's comments:
Well, I was beginning to doubt myself as a writer not too long ago and it really worried me, so I sat down in front of my notebook and I suddenly a poem was in front of me. I still don't really know where the poem came from even though I wrote it. Weird, right?
