Let It Fall

March 15, 2012
Maybe it's not such a shame

That you can't see my face;

That my twisted auburn locks

Sweep softly like a mask,

Obscuring inquiring eyes.

It's a two-way mirror,

Crafted of my own genetic code;

I can see your sparkling amber eyes

Filled with laughter and mischievous glee,

But you cannot see my own hazel windows

Into my soul,

Only glinting with liquid pain.

Let it fall.

Let it fall.

My windows crack

Under building pressure,

Releasing the crystals onto the Earth.

As soon as they crack;

They are repaired.

I'm just fine.

If I say it enough,

Someday it'll come true.
