'I’m Nobody! Who are you?
Are you–Nobody–Too?
Then there’s a pair of us!
Don’t tell! they’d advertise–you know!

How dreary–to be–Somebody!
How public–like a Frog-
To tell one’s name–the livelong June-
To an admiring Bog!'
-Emily Dickinson

I am from Bethesda Hospital at 4:06 in the morning.
I am from a mom who wore army boots and a dad who traded his father for me.
I am from playing Bob-the-Builder in a Cinderella dress.
I am from jumping rope in the rain.
I am from clay-covered clothes after a friendly fight.

I am from tears on my birthday.
I am from a now forbidden house that was my home.
I am from cardboard boxes and packing paper.
They stole my things then spat them out here.
I am from a hard bench at the back of the playground.

I am from observing but not participating.
I am from "You're crazy, kid".
I am from looking at him when he doesn't look at me.
I am from friends I don't quite understand
And friends who forgot
And friends who don't care.
I am from fear.
I am especially from the hatred I hate to feel.

I am from Not Here
A place no one knows
But me.

We have a type of poem at my school called an 'I AM FROM' poem, and this is my best attempt at one. Enjoy! Sorry for any spelling errors!
