South Bound
I wait in line
 for the train,
 heading south.
 The cold windy city gone
 a warm beach
with sand as soft as silk
 and sunshine awaits.

 I see

 on the other side,

 the blacks,
 waiting to go north.
 packing up their lives,
 taking a huge risk,
 looking for an opportunity,
 a chance, a break, a job.
 The gigantic risk
as big as the train itself,
 might not payoff.
 They board the train,
 heading into the unknown
 hoping, wishing, and praying
 for the best.
 As I board mine,
 I know
they search for what I have
 a house, a family, and a job.
