Almost there
The love for speed in my core
As I pedal faster
I want more
More speed, it’s a disaster
I swore
I had it down, mastered
As I spin faster my legs become sore
As I push through the turn I’m set up to pass her
I beg for more
More time, but everything is a blur
Next thing I know I’m in the dirt on the cold floor
How did this occur
My body aching; sore
My words are slurred
I feel it in my core
Searching for the word
But the tears pour;
I am unheard
The sobs roar
Who would have thought this race would be so absurd
